Biography

Zina Fredj received her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineeringin 2013 and master’s degree in Embedded Electronics in 2015 from the University of Sousse, Tunisia. In 2019, she obtained her PhD degree in Physics engineering in collaboration with the Institute of Technology Tallaght (Dublin, Ireland), the Biosensors and Bioelectronics Center (Linkoping- Sweden), the Institute of Analytical Sciences (Lyon- France), and the University of Technology (Chemnitz-Germany). In her thesis, she was focusing on the development of electrochemical biosensors for cancer biomarkers detection. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Microelectronics and Nanotechnology research center (Sousse- Tunisia). Currently, Dr. Fredj is a Postdoctoral Fellow in CenBRAINNeurotech.

Research

Dr. Fredj’s research interests cover the design and implementation of nanoscience-based biosensors. These biosensors are based on the integration of biological molecules as receptors with micro- andnano-structuresand intended for applications in environmental and biomedical areas. Presently, she is designing, implementing, and testing structures for neural cells and various neurotransmitters manipulation and detection.
