Dr. Mostafa Katebi received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zanjan, Iran, in 2015 and 2018 respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Electronics & Biomedical Engineering) at Iran University of Science and Technology in 2025. During his doctoral studies, he joined the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence at Westlake University in 2023 as a visiting Ph.D. student for 15 months. Following the completion of his Ph.D., Mostafa joined back CenBRAIN Neurotech for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Dr. Katebi’s research activities include analog and mixed-signal IC design, implementation and test.  These devices are intended to build wearable and implantable neural sensing and stimulating for neuromodulation applications. He is interested on exploring optogenetics array stimulation and comparing with conventional electrical stimulation counterparts. He is focusing on closed loop neuromodulation for diabetes treatment, as well as for restoring motor function and improve corresponding therapeutic outcomes.
