Xixi Song got her B.S. degree in biotechnology from Shihezi University, Shihezi, China in 2013, and received her M.S. degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Chinese Academy of Forestry, Beijing, China in 2016. She worked as a molecular biology engineer and an iGEM instructor from 2016 to 2021, focusing on gene pathway design and development of biosensors. Xixi joined the Center of Excellence in Biomedical Research on Advanced Integrated-on-chips Neurotechnologies (CenBRAIN Neurotech) in December 2021, focusing on biosensors design and validation, and the recent CenBRAIN project of diagnostic testing from disease biomarkers to pathogenic viruses.

Xixi Song’s work involves: 1) Biodetection experiments, such as the detection of pathogens, the detection of proteins and DNA biomarkers related to various kinds of diseases in clinical diagnosis; 2) Biofunctionalization and bioconjugation protocol design for the biosensor; 3) Screening of antibodies for detection of multiple pathogens simultaneously; 4) Synthesis of diverse proteins as probes toward biomarker/virus detection; and 5) Literature research and experimental data analysis.
