POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS

Yuchen XU

2023 | Ph.D. | Zhejiang University | China

Biography

Dr. Yuchen Xu obtained her PhD degree in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China) in 2022 and joined CenBRAIN Neurotech as a postdoctoral fellow in 2023. Her research interests focus on the applications of neural modulation in post-stroke motor function rehabilitation. Currently, she is designing, implementing and evaluating the corticomuscular coherence-based neural modulation in a rat stroke model and applied brain organoids in stroke rehabilitation.

Research Interests and Project

Yuchen Xu got her bachelor’s degree in the Department of Electrical Information Engineering of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan, China) in 2016. In 2022, she obtained her PhD degree in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China). In her thesis, she focused on improving rehabilitation efficiency in physical training and proposed a fatigue-controlled training strategy for motor function recovery in a rat stroke model. Dr. Xu is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence.

Representative Publications

Dr. Xu’s research interests focus on the applications of neural modulation in post-stroke motor function rehabilitation. The modulations are mainly triggered by individualized electrophysiological biomarkers and delivered through electrical stimulation or ultrasound stimulation. Another area of research interest is the modulation of brain organoids in vivo, with the goal of facilitating the structural and functional fusion of brain organoids and host animals. Currently, she is designing, implementing and evaluating the corticomuscular coherence-based neural modulation in a rat stroke model.
