Congratulations to Prof. Sawan and several members of CenBRAIN Neurotech on their awards!

2025年1月17日，西湖大学工学院召开了2024年度总结表彰大会，先进神经芯片中心首席科学家Mohamad Sawan 教授荣获西湖大学最佳教学奖！颁奖仪式上，西湖大学工学院副院长张岳教授亲自为Sawan教授颁发了荣誉证书。

On January 17, 2025, the School of Engineering (SOE) at Westlake University held its 2024 SOE Awards Ceremony. Prof. Mohamad Sawan, Founding Director the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence, was honored with the 2024 Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching! During the ceremony, Prof. Yue Zhang, VP Education in the SOE, from Westlake University presented the certificate to Prof. Sawan.

为了这一喜讯，本中心的博士生们秘密筹备了现场庆祝环节，并别出心裁的制作了“三语”祝贺横幅，现场气氛温馨愉悦。随后，Sawan 教授在他的致谢辞中表达了对于获得该奖的惊喜与荣幸，同时也激励大家继续前行，为科研事业贡献更多力量。

To celebrate this joyous occasion, the PhD students from our center secretly organized a celebration event, complete with a creative trilingual congratulatory banner. In Prof. Sawan’s speech, he expressed his surprise and honor at receiving the award, while encouraging everyone to keep striving and contributing to scientific progress.

此次表彰大会上，中心博士生陈锦波凭借出色的科研能力获得米开罗那奖学金和西湖大学学习创新奖，博士生吴辉获得优秀助教奖！此外，还有多位同学收获荣誉，包括柴诚芃同学的最具领导力奖，刘星同学的文体艺术奖，以及杨曦、吴迪、郑钰乔、章洪永和邹文俊五位同学所获的求知探索奖。

At the same ceremony, our Ph.D student Jinbo Chen was awarded the Mikrouna Scholarshipand the Westlake University Learning and Innovation Award for his outstanding performance. PhD student Hui Wu received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. Several other students were also recognized with honors, including Chengpeng Chai (Leadership Award), Xing Liu (Arts and Culture Award), and Xi Yang, Di Wu, Yuqiao Zheng, Hongyong Zhang, and Wenjun Zou (Exploration and Discovery Award).

更令人惊喜的是，我们中心的一位博士生高旭嵘还成为了工学院年度宣传片的男主角，让我们中心也拥有了自己的 “超级明星”。

Excitingly, Xurong Gao, one PhD student from the center also starred as an actor in the SOE’s annual promotional video, making our center proud to have its own “superstar”.

不过，先进神经芯片中心的星光并不局限于银幕。在科研领域，我们也同样熠熠生辉。

Yet, the brilliance of the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence shines not only on screen but also in the realm of research.

2025年1月16日，第六届先进神经芯片中心年会在万怡酒店成功举办。此次年会以“合作与创新”为主题，由Mohamad Sawan教授致开幕词。在会议上，12位师生进行了精彩的口头报告，共有50余名团队成员参加了此次盛会。

On January 16, 2025, the 6th Annual Meeting of the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence was successfully held at the Courtyard Hotel, themed “Collaboration and Innovation.” Prof. Mohamad Sawan delivered the opening speech. The event featured 12 impressive oral presentations by faculty and students, with over 50 team members in attendance.

西湖大学研究员荣国光博士、副研究员杨杰博士、助理研究员Razieh Eskandari博士和陈运萱博士分别就生物传感器和生物界面、脑机接口与类脑芯片、神经信号与成像三个领域的研究进展及未来展望进行了详细的汇报。此外，博士后成员邵楠博士和徐羽晨博士也分别在脑类器官培养和视觉/运动康复领域分享了他们的研究成果。博士生方潮铭、章洪永及高旭嵘则分别在神经网络加速器、微流控技术和视觉恢复等方向进行了进展汇报。

Dr. Guoguang Rong(Research Professor), Dr. Jie Yang(Research Associate Professor), Dr. Razieh Eskandari, and Dr. Yun-Hsuan Chen(Research Assistant Professor) presented detailed reports on research progress and prospects in the fields of biosensors and biointerfaces, brain-computer interfaces and neuromorphic chips, and neural signals and imaging. Additionally, postdoctoral fellows Dr. Nan Shao and Dr. Yuchen Xu shared their findings in organoid cultivation and visual/motor rehabilitation. Ph.D students Chaoming Fang, Hongyong Zhang, and Xurong Gao gave progress updates on neural network accelerators, microfluidics, and vision restoration, respectively.

新近成立的光电小组也分享了他们最新的跨领域研究。基于光遗传学的视觉恢复——可穿戴系统和动物模型的开发、神经形态计算的生态系统在自动驾驶中的实践演示、神经信号记录与舌下神经刺激系统等项目在助理研究员Mansoor Ahmad博士和其他光电小组成员（张百松、章城骏、谭梓祺）的汇报中逐一亮相，展示了实验室在科研领域的深厚实力和创新能力。

Our recently founded Optech team also shared their latest cross-disciplinary research, including advancements in Optogenetics-Based Vision Restoration, Ecosystem for Neuromorphic Computing, and neural signal recording and hypoglossal nerve stimulation system. These projects, presented by Dr. Mansoor Ahmadand other members (Baisong Zhang, Chengjun Zhang, Ziqi Tan) of their team, showcased our center’s profound strength and innovative capabilities in research.

活动尾声是激动人心的抽奖环节。Sawan教授和中心小伙伴们共同抽取了16位幸运儿，为他们送上实验室精心准备的礼品。让大家在欢乐中感受到了团队的温暖和关怀。

The grand finale of the event was an exciting lucky draw. Prof. Sawan, together with our center members, drew 16 lucky winners and presented them with thoughtful gifts prepared by the center, spreading warmth and joy throughout the team.
