May 10, 2024

On May 10, 2024, the 13th IEEE International Conference on Communications, Circuits, and Systems (IEEE ICCCAS 2024) was successfully held in Xiamen, China. Dr. Mohamad Sawan, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Royal Society of Sciences of Canada, IEEE Life Fellow, and Chair Professor in Westlake University was invited to deliver a keynote speech.

In his keynote talk titled “Closed-loop Neuromorphic-based BCI to Manage Vital Functions”, Professor Sawan shared the cutting-edge research contributions of his CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence in the field of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) He particularly focused on the increasing potential of BCIs for the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, empowering the introduction of new quality productive forces. Then, he expressed great honor in delivering the speech at this conference and looked forward to engaging in more discussions with experts in the field on the future research of communication, circuits, and systems.

It is noted that the IEEE ICCCAS, as a significant international event in the field of communication, circuits, and systems, was initiated in 2002 by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and has successfully held 12 editions to date. This year, the conference attracted nearly 150 experts and scholars, focusing on themes such as communication systems and networks, signal processing and analysis, power electronics and renewable energy systems, as well as emerging areas such as machine learning and artificial intelligence in communications and circuits. It provided a broad platform for experts and scholars in related fields to exchange the latest research results and explore the direction of academic activities.
