Prof. Mohamad Sawan delivered the single keynote speech for the 2024 World Manufacturing Convention in Hefei

On September 21st, The 2024 World Manufacturing Convention on Intellectual Property Protection and Utilization was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. This conference invited government departments, universities, research institutes, and intellectual property experts and scholars from both domestic and overseas. It aims to explore the methods and paths to support the development of new productivity by boosting the manufacturing industry through intellectual property rights.

Mohamad Sawan, Chair Professor at Westlake University, was invited to attend the conference and delivered the single keynote of the event titled "Applications of AI-Based Brain-Machine Interfaces in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Neurodegenerative Diseases" at the academic forum.

In his address, Professor Sawan provided an overview of latest research works on Brain-Machine Interfaces and corresponding extensive applications in healthcare, such as epilepsy prediction and vision restoration. He also shared the latest research contributions from the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence, which he leads, in the introduction of implantable and wearable intelligent medical devices based on smart microsystems technology.
