In an era of accelerating convergence between neurochips and biomedical engineering, interdisciplinary and cross-border collaborative innovation has become a core driver reshaping the technological landscape.
From May 27 to 30, 2026, The 6th CenBRAIN Neurotech Annual Workshop will be held at the Yungu Campus of Westlake University, continuing to foster in-depth exchanges in this cutting-edge field. The workshop is hosted by the laboratory of Chair Professor Mohamad Sawan from the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Engineering, Westlake University, and receives full support from the department.

The Annual Workshop of the CenBRAIN Neurotech Center of Excellence was initiated and chaired by Chair Professor Mohamad Sawan in 2021. It aims to build a high-level, highly interactive annual academic exchange platform for faculty, students, and Chinese and international collaborators. The past five workshops were successfully held in Huzhou, Qiandao Lake, Shaoxing, Yiwu, and Deqing, Zhejiang Province, and were well received by participating experts and young scholars.
This year's workshop is expected to have about 70 participants. A number of distinguished scholars have been invited to attend in person, including Professor Danilo Demarchi from Politecnico di Torino, Professor Sandro Carrara from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Professor Pedram Mohseni from Case Western Reserve University, Professor Mehdi Kiani from the University of Maryland, Professor Benoit Gosselin from Université Laval, and Professor Zhao Bo from Zhejiang University.
The workshop will feature a variety of sessions, including keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, and research demonstrations, aiming to break down disciplinary barriers and stimulate intellectual cross-pollination. It will particularly provide a stage for early-career scholars at Westlake University to engage in cross-disciplinary exchange and growth. At the same time, this workshop will serve as an important window to showcase the latest research achievements of the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering at Westlake University and to attract international talent.
Faculty, students, and researchers from relevant fields on campus are welcome to pay attention to this workshop and join the conversation on the future of neurochips at Yungu.
